MIHS Best Paper Award Presented at the 2008 AIHce in Minneapolis

MIHS is pleased to announce the winners of this year's MIHS Best Paper award. One of the authors, Dr. Dhimiter Bello, Department of Work Environment at the University of Massachusetts (Lowell) was in attendance at the AIHce in Minneapolis to accept the award from our MIHS President, Dr. Ernest Chiodo, and Dr. Jim D'Arcy, MIHS
Past-President.

The winning paper entitled, Slow Curing of Aliphatic Polyisocyanate Paints in Automotive Refinishing: A Potential Source for Skin Exposure was published in the June 2007 edition of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health. The other authors, Judy Sparer, Carrie A. Redlich, Karim Ibrahim, Meredith H. Stowe, and Youcheng Liu (Yale Univ School of Medicine) each received a plaque commemorating this achievement.

In a follow-up email after the conference, Dr Bellow writes:

"Thank you so very much for the award. It has meant a lot to me and my colleagues and will influence the way I conduct research. I am proudly displaying the plaque in my office. We hold MIHS as a prestigious and influential organization in our profession. My colleagues will be very thrilled to get theirs."
