MIHS Mini Conference 2011 - Speaker Presentations

 



ABIH CM Point Opportunity - CIHs only
Earn CM points by attending a 2-day item writing workshop at no cost.
ABIH is planning a 2 day item writing workshop November 3-4, 2011 in the Kalamazoo area.  Workshop attendees will be trained in item development and coached in writing consistent and high quality items for the CIH exam. Volunteers must be ABIH certified as a CIH.  Please note that volunteers who are involved in exam development must agree not to recertify by exam and not to teach certification preparation courses for a period of three years afterwards.  Attendees will be expected to write 10 examination questions at the workshop.
Attendance during the entire 2 day workshop is mandatory and CM points will be awarded for those who participate in the entire session. ABIH will provide lunch during the workshop.
If you are interested in participating in the item writing workshop, open the attached application, print, complete and send the application to ABIH by October 7, 2011.

NEW COURSE AT WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY
OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCES - HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR HOSPITALS & OTHER INSTITUTIONS 

This course is designed to address environmental, occupational health and safety in the healthcare industry and other institutions.  Institutions include: hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, medical offices, universities, school districts, municipalities, correctional facilities, veterinary clinics and government agencies.  Students will learn to recognize, evaluate and control hazards in these unique working environments; develop and implement procedures, programs to address these risks; and to achieve regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, JCAHO).  (Click here for additional information)
