About Michigan Industrial Hygiene Society

Founded in 1938, the Michigan Industrial Hygiene Society is composed of approximately 100 highly trained professionals who service the communities’ environmental and occupational health needs. Most members are industrial hygienists employed by large corporations, universities, regulatory agencies, private consulting firms, and within companies that service, sell, and distribute occupational health/safety products.

The purpose of MIHS is to:

  • Protect Worker Health by Promoting the Art and Science of Industrial Hygiene
  • Advance the Knowledge, Skills and Character of Professional Industrial Hygienists
  • Link People Interested in the Various Aspects of Occupational & Environmental Health
  • Secure the Common Interest of the Industrial Hygiene Profession.
